Default Power Steering Control Valve

I need a new steering valve. Zip seems to have the best price on a new one. I think I would rather have a new instead of rebuilt one. Any of you guys ever used one from Zip? Are they good quality? :chevy

yep, put a new one in last summer from Zip - no problems no leaks. Spend the bucks and put in new hoses as well.

i am on my third one!! First was rebuild from Ecklers, second was new from Ecklers plus money back since 1st leaked before 90 day warranty ended. Latest is new PS valve from ZIP and it to is leaking from the gasket on top where the mounting bolt attaches to the idler arm (not sure name of part) P.S. I did not do the maintenance on the 3rd one so it's not my lack of mechanical skill. I am sick and tired of spending $100 every year for a P.S. valve. Screw it I think I'll just let it leak, good for the ecosystem anyway. :D

I'm not being paid by Vette Brake Products. However, they rebuild control valves and have a 5 year warranty. "New" valves that they sell only come with a one year warranty. What does that tell you.

Another satisified customer here with rebuilt one from Vette Brakes. I would also check the hoses and replace if necessary. Remove the left front tire and you will have easy access. Not a difficult job at all.

I bought one for a 79 corvette I had one time from ZIP. Never had any problems with it either.
This last time I rebuilt my own. I haven`t had the chance to use it yet because I don`t have the car on the road yet.

I purchased a new one from Zip products. It was manufactured by
Stainless Steel Brakes. After a little over a year and about 1000
miles it started leaking. I called Zip customer service and they
said they have more problems with the new ones than the rebuilt
ones. She was willing to give me full credit toward either a
new or rebuilt one. I tried a rebuilt one this time, so far no leaks.

Also great service from Zip to go beyond the warranty!
They also always give prompt credit for any core returns.

When removing a control valve look at how far it is threaded on
the relay rod. If the replacement is not threaded on the same
distance, the steering wheel will not be centered.
