Incorrect Guage Readings
Removed my center console for the 5th or 6th time, but this time the light went out and the guages started reading differently. The oil guage, which has not worked the past 6 years, now reads fully to the right. The gas guage reads about 1/4 tank less when full (always read full before). The battery guage reads below 12 volts. The circuit board behind the cluster is in need of repair. I intend to replace it as soon as the money is available. Can anyone confirm this as my problem? You say the circuit board "is in need of repair"; I would think this could very well be your problem. But, I also had my gauge cluster go crazy after a reinstall of the center console. I took it apart and put it back together again and it worked fine. I guess I had a ground problem somewhere :confused:
