I am about to install my pushrods and I discovered one end has a larger hole than the other. When I took them out I keep them in order of the cylinder that they came. The way I have them does the big hole go to the rocker.

Apparently I have only one pushrod with a small hole on one end and a larger hole on the other end.
All of the pushrods have the same size hole but one it was kind of weird. I looked a little bit closer and there was a chip also. I am installing roller rockers in new aluminum heads.
I always put the larger hole at the rocker arm end. The small hole is always in line with the lifter, allowing constant oil feed. The rotation of the rocker arm would partially block the oil flow out of the push rod thru the small hole.

New alum heads and roller rockers? Yea good u caught the p-rod flaw. U will need hardened p-rods for the guide plates and need to fit them up also. U dont want them to rub but just a smooth movement/clearance in the guide plate slot. Also clearance the rocker arms to the vlv spring retainer and the stud itself. Look up crane cams or comp cams for this info/clearance. Myself w/new heads i would use a "checker tool" to measure for correct p-rod length.

Hope this can help.
I viewed a couple Utube videos and I will adjust the guide plates.
If you have any question on the pushrods as far as the way they look.....throw them out and get new ones......
For guide plate.....you will need a hardened pushrod as already stated.
Trend makes 90% of the pushrods in any Cam catalog.....
I agree with checking the length and installing new pushrods. It's just cheap Insurance. Having guideplates makes hardened pushrods a necessity, other wise you will soon have metal shavings floating through your oil.
