new a/cleaner seal installation
I finally got the seal from corvette rubber, the seal does not look like the seal that came off, has anyone used the seal from corvette rubber and installed it, I was told I would have to cut the seal to make it work, the seal also fits a camaro with a big block, but the seal profile is the same. does the seal sit on top of the ring or does is go under the flang and then on top :confused: anyone have pictures or can take pictures of this would sure help me out, I'm sooooo confused :confused: thanks bushog :cheers:

Here's a pic; I hope it helps:
After you cut the seal to the appropriate size, use weatherstripping adhesive and black cloth tape to glue the ends together. You can find the cloth tape at Home Depot, in the electrical stuff aisle.

thanks Pedro, I thank I have it figured out, I didn't want to cut it and then find out its wrong and I'm stuck with it. thanks :cheers: petty44

Butch, does the new one have some meat to it? I got one from another vendor that I sent back. It wasn't the same profile??? Very thin and flimsy.
