My power steering slowly stopped working, over a two-month span. Someone on this forum said if you look into the filler port, and do not see any fluid movement, the pump is bad. I saw nothing but a little vibration of the fluid, so I replaced the pump, with one from Napa. Power steering still does not work.
I replaced the control valve 10 years ago. Does anyone have any other trouble shooting ideas?

The big nut on the back of the pump where the pressure hose connects has a spring and a valve under it. Take the pressure hose off, unscrew that big nut/fitting and make sure the spring is in first and the valve in last over the spring before you screw the fitting/nut back on. If the spring is in last over the valve it will not work at all. Spring must be under valve pushing valve out against the nut/ fitting that holds it all in.
Seen this simple mistake many times, easy fix.
