My car has been having some problems when it comes to shifting. Earlier this week it started giving me problems. It was sticking and having a tough time shifting. I checked the transmission fluid and it was completely full. I continued driving it(because I need it to get to school). Today when I was coming home from school, the car started making this noise almost like something was scraping the ground or another part of the car. it started the noise at about 15mph and would stop after 20mph. I had to put it in 2nd drive. Then about half way home, the noise went to a sound like some thing was loose and being tossed around the passenger side of the engine or the front right wheel area. I've never had any problem like this and was wondering what you guys thought it might be. We are taking it to the machanic, but I wanted to know what you thought it was. I'm scared that we might have to get a new transmission. thanks for any help you can give me.
Sounds pretty close to dropping the tranny. Check the fluid now very closely and see if there is any very fine metal shavings in the fluid. Also check the vacum line to the tranny, make sure it goes to straight manifold vacum.
