What would cause an engine to idle up after coming to a stop & then slowly go back to it's normal idle speed . I cannot duplicate this sitting still. I did park on a decline to check and the engine started to idle up, this told me my float was to high so I lowered it to 11/32'' from 3/8'' did it improve - yes some - before I try to lower it again is there something else that could cause this issue.
As always Thanks Mike

Correction, I lowered to 13/32'' it did run rich and had a ruff idle prior to lowering.
No vac advance. All vac lines capped at manafold for testing carb a yr old Double checked distributor idle on flat ground no problem rev it 2k and hold for a few. No problem let idle & back up hill idle goes high. Drive down the road at 40mph put in neutral idle fine stop at stop sign idle up briefly the does fine. No pwr brakes either. Sorry on phone type no fun. Mike
OK how about dirt in the carb bowl? But you checked when you reset the float, correct?
spotless, double checked every thing again last night, I live on a moderate hill, pull car up the drive and let it idle no problem, back the car up the drive & idle goes up 300 RPM steady.
