I posted on subject back in May and cannot find it without the correct keywords in the search function. Thanks
do you think this one will work? http://my.execpc.com/~rodney1/tachfilter.htm
it has only two connections while home built one above has 3 connections, with a ground. Your thoughts please?????
I would rather order the $17.00 Fiero filter if it works than chance building one and blow time and money or worse yet my electrical system. On the following pics which capacitor is tied to which? It looks like a maze to me, cannot make out which part is attached to which. [img]https://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/miker//tfilter_4.jpg/img]
WOW! What kind of dime store digi-cam was used for those crappy pictures!?!
I'll have to admit, you can't make out much in the pictures but maybe between studying the diagram and looking at the pics you will be able to figure it out.
I was unsure when I first looked at the diagram so I took it to work and got one of the I&C techs to help me sort it out.
The resistors came in packs of 5
and the capacitors came in packs of two.
All that is needed is
1- 0.1uF Ceramic Disc Capacitor
1- 100pF Ceramic Disc Capacitor
1- 10K ohm resistor
1- 5.6K ohm resistor
While following the electrical diagram that Smokehouse69 provided, twist
them together, and solder it all together along with the wires that go to
the distributor, tach, and ground. Cover with shrink wrap and you are done!
MIKER I'm going to print the pictures of the items and pick it up at Radio Shack then take to work to have the AE's (aviaiton electronic techs) build for me, thanks
