I have a small leak in my air condition. I bought some air condition sealant and I'm wondering if it will work? I have a 1971 383 4 speed with air. Oh yea, dye was put in to see the leak.

This is one of those things that some will call hack job but remember when gm had to use barrs in the caddys that had engine head leaks?
I have seen this used in many cars and the key is more using the gauges and getting the correct amount of the coolant in there, the cool cans with a gauge are more a selling tactic to the novices out there,
It works pretty much on leaks that take a while to seep out the coolant if the coolant leaks out in a day or two it likely will not help too much,
Since you want to update/upgrade anyway try this stuff it will likely buy you some nice cold ac for a spell....
I've used it and the sealer works but you MUST use the sealer first and then follow with a fresh charge of freon. If you put the sealer in by itself, the sealer will seal the shrader valve on your AC.

Assuming it was converted to R134, go ahead and try it. For a small leak it might work.
You said there is dye in the system...look for leaks at all the connections, like hose ends, comp front seal, etc. Of course a UV light may help. Leaks can show up as oil residue also.
