Where/How to run a Mechanical Temp line through the firewall.
Yikes......(79 coupe) where the heck do I run the line through the firewall? I see no hole at all to run this line from the dash to the engine compartment. I can find a hole from the engine compartment where the speedo cable goes through but I can't seem to thread anything through or even to find on the interior where it comes in.
My 70 Mustang was a no brainer compared to the 79 Vette.

stangs in many ways are more user friendly than c3's
the only mech line stock was the oil pressure on early c3's,
none that I know of had mech temp 80-82 had temp temp option but it was electrical, your 79 would have electric gauges,
So I am guessing you are doing aftermarket and will respect your desire for mech senders but in that you will have to plan out and make a new hole if you can not use the vacuum line or a wiring hole,
Here is a thread showing the holes in a 69 firewall and Alan saving the day on what each is...

I believe 79 was a bit different but you get an idea
