Had oil pressure switch issues(pegged out high), went to check sender by grounding out wire from connector. Must have grounded out wrong wire as engine immediately stopped and now will not restart. Checked fuses under dash and dont see anything blown. Don't see any fuses in battery compartment. What should I be looking at next?
Look for spark, grounding out the pressure gage wire couldn't have melted a fusible link. The motor is turning over?
Motor turns over, everything works as it should, but cant hear fuel pump at gas door when I turn on ignition. and engine doesn't start.Thinking of removing battery to see if there is a fusible link behind toward drivers seat.

Do you know exactly which wire you grounded, including color? If so, it might be faster to analyze the current path using the wiring diagram.

There are three wires at the sender. Looking at the plug there is one at the 12 one at the nine and one at the three. I grounded out the one at the 12. Colors are badly faded, they all three look to be an orangish color, no stripes or really any difference that I can determine. (I should note I am also colorblind to red/green).

UPDATE: EUREKA! Found the dirty bugger!!!! 15 amp in-line fuse inside the battery compartment BEHIND the ECM! Now located in front of the ECM on the side of the battery.
Glad you found it! I don't remember seeing a fuse back there in mine, but I wasn't specifically looking for one when I was working in that area. FWIW, you might want to consider moving the fuel pump relay connector out from behind the ECM also. The original '82 can be difficult to find, but a relay for the '84 will also work. It's slightly different mechanically (won't bolt down in the original location), but it plugs in the same, and it's electrically identical.
