Default 1977 Ignition problem?

Have an intermittent problem with my 77 Corvette that has HEI. Sometimes when driving, the engine will literally just shut off as if someone turned the key off. It does not give any advance warning such as jerking, sputtering or cutting out. Pull to the side of the road and it starts right back up. I have replaced the cap-rotor-coil-and ignition module (used correct grease). The only thing I didn't replace was the pick up coil under the distributor. Any help would be appreciated. Very frustrating

Sounds more like gas... fuel pump not working/vapour lock ??. When u stop at side of road quickly flip off the air cleaner and give the accelerator cable a tweak.Should be lots of gas. Electrical problems that stop a car dont generally quickly "fix" themselves when u stop. Gas problems do because the engine/vacum allows things to "catch up". Have you changed anything recently in the fuel system or added a new part that might have crimped something or impacted on a vacum somewhere.??

I have seen this before on both Chevys and Fords. It's often ignition related. I suggest that you replace the other part you mentioned.

Had that happen to my 77 Camaro , it was the pick up in the distributer.
