I seem to recall some people using something like a slim-jim to trigger the door mechanism, but when my passenger door got stuck on my 79, I removed the door panel (which is also sort of tricky, as I seem to remember one of the screws being 'hidden' when the door is closed). My problem ended up being an issue with the 'lock' not dis-engaging completely (and actually still has issues some days).
For searching for forum threads on the topic, I've had better luck using google, and adding 'corvetteforum' to the search topic. Something like 'corvetteforum c3 door won't open'
