After leaving a car roll-in the brake light came on my 80 corvette. The front port of the master cylinder was a little down so I toped it off. The light went off but still comes on once in a while. The pedal also seems to go down farther that it used to also. Anyone with ideas where to start with this issue ?
Brakes are a closed system, therefore the missing fluid went somewhere as it can't evaporate. I myself would check the calipers first to see if they are leaking. I see you are in MN so had the car sat all winter? I'm in NY and last winter I had a rear caliper decide to leak over the winter, it was easy to see as when I moved the car I had a spot on the floor and I could see it on the back of the tire. If calipers/ hoses/ lines look fine check your m/c. I just had to replace one on one of my t birds as it was leaking out the back at the booster.

Check the inside edge of your tires for fluid spray, when a caliper is leaking it will normally spray on the back of the tire. The light coming and the lower pedal is probably from having air in the system.
