1981 Corvette 4l60e swap question
Hello all. I have a 81 vette with the th350c. It has a lsx 5.3L motor in it now. I am getting ready to swap in the matching 4l60e. If I get a 82 cross member and driveshaft, will it be a bolt in swap?

I think that it should fit with a 700r4 cross member, I've always been lead to believe that the trans are same except that the 4l60e is computer controlled. This might be the point that I'm schooled, but I'd bet that either PATC or Bowie overdrive would have the answer and not just the guess.

I have a 4l60e on my '82, and you need to bear in mind that exhaust routes under the '82 crossmember on the passenger side. As far a length goes I found this:

So they are pretty much the same size, i thought so. With that being said unless you have a 700r4 already, you can either modify the existing crossmember or buy an aftermarket. I bought a g force when swapped from the turbo 350 to 700r4, nice piece.
