Does anyone else think it looks sorta wimpy?
When I get around to painting I might leave it off. Looking for opinions. :)

You asked....... :D If you take them off you'll assume ownership of all the negative karma from the tortured souls that have had to redrill the holes that a previous bubba had filled. Me, ddecart, and others here have lots of fun redrilling and aligning holes to reinstall the rear letters.
Then again, it's your car and you can do what you want. I personally think the rear looks even more plain without the letters. Here's my '69 without the letters, prior to my repaint.

I agree about it being too plain without the letters on the back. But it is your vette. I'm doing things to mine that people would disagree with.

I filled, painted, and put a decal. I never liked the letters on my car. Now on an all original show car, its different.
The holes can't be that hard to redrill, they are easy to see from the backside.

71,454,4spd has always had a good looking rear end. My badging is off awaiting paint but I'll replace it. I think if you stay stock, stay with the badging. If you customize, then let imagination be your guide.
