Just got back from looking at maybe my first C3! The car has 44kmi and is all original except for the carb and shifter. The original carb and shifter does come with it. Absolutly no rust...it was a Florida car. The outside need a coat of wax but doesn't need a paint job. The interior needs a little work but nothing serious. Just some TLC. Only point of concern I have is one side of the exhaust is more powerfull than the other. They are asking $7000. Should I jump on this or is the price about right?
Re: Got done looking at a 74, what do you think? (Tim89)
I own a 74 C3 and $ 7000 sounds like a great price, but what option does the car have ?????
Here is my advice.
Check out the frame !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brake are not cheap !!!!!!!!!!!!
Power Steering is not cheap !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Replacing the interior is not cheap !!!!!!!!!
Bottomline, I paid $ 8500 for a car with a good frame and engine and have spent another $ 4000 replacing power steering, brakes, interior, tires and misc. items.
I have enjoyed it all, but it takes time and money !!!!!!!!!!
Re: Got done looking at a 74, what do you think? (Tim89)
Sounds OK. Hard to tell since you don't give many details about power train, options etc. I guess you should find out why one side is stronger than the other unless the price has room for some motor work. Also what do you want to use the car for? Wells
Re: Got done looking at a 74, what do you think? (Tim89)
The heat riser on the passenger side could make the driver's side exhaust seem stronger if the engine isn't fully warmed up. It could also be stuck in a partially closed position. Just a thought.
Re: Got done looking at a 74, what do you think? (Tim89)
The options I know of are L82 and air conditioning. Not sure what else it has though. What else is there?
Sounding better! :) both L82 and a/c are real nice options!
What else is there? power .... steering, brakes, windows? deluxe interior? **** carpet? cb radio w/ 8 track? j/k, sounds like a nice car! MJ

I was thinking heat riser as well...typical for them to stick after so many years.
Sounds like a pretty good car, and the price isn't bad for a complete, running, fairly nice '74. Try to find a second set of eyes to look at it with you, preferably someone who is familiar with C3s. I have seen too many folks get taken because they didn't know alot about the type of car they were buying...myself included, though not on my Corvette.
