No reverse lights
Ok, I have a 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car with an automatic transmission. My back up lights do not work when car is put in reverse. I have changed out the bulbs, bulb sockets and the fuse is good. I think the problem is the reverse back up switch. Where is that located and how would I go about changing it out with a new one? Also, what tools might be needed and how difficult is the job? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

the switch is on the mounting base of the shifter, under the console top. You can get to it by removing the side carpet panel to the center console. The passenger side IIRC. I need to remove the seats on the '79 to get those panels off, probably the same on the '78.
