I'd like to remove each door hinge one at a time for reconditioning. I'm thinking that this approach may ease door realignment. Thoughts?
In doing my off body restore of my 69, when I got to doing the door gaps it was mentioned to me to mist a different color over the hinge as a witness mark. When the hinge is removed you will see exactly where the head of the bolt sat. Worked pretty good. When completed you can take lacquer thinner and wipe off the mist. Red car use silver and so on!

I'm not sure the door will drop far enough to get the bushings out with the other hinge still attached....Not to mention chipping the paint....? Maybe someone else can chime in on that.
I just replaced the pins and bushings on my drivers door this weekend....I built a door dolly out of plywood and attached it to a floor jack...Worked great. I didn't chip the paint removing the door but I did putting the new top pin in....Nothing a little touch-up paint didn't fix....The paint is a 20 footer at best anyway.
Thanks all for the feedback. But, can either the upper or lower hinge be completely removed while leaving it's mate bolted in place? If I were only interested in replacing the pins and bushings, I'd probably do as suggested. But, my hinges are really ugly with built up paint-covered grease and grime. They need to be stripped and repainted.

I liked your idea for the door jack can you show a pic of how it goes on to the jack.
Yea...I'll take some and post tomorrow. It really depends on your floor jack....Mine has a large flat head bolt that holds the saddle on....I was going to just get a longer bolt but I couldn't find one with the correct threads....So I had to get creative to attach it.
I've never tried it but I don't think you can do it one hinge at a time, seems like the door would get in the way. I always spray over the bolt heads with a contrasting color which leaves me perfect witness marks. But I also have an old door jack that mounts to the a floor jack we have. This door jack swivels 360 and also tilts forward, backwards and left to right.
