Default 3m 8115 panel bonding adhesive

Does anyone know how many linear inches the 200 mL 3m tube creates? The stuff is expensive and I'd like to not order too much.

thank you

I realize this thread is an old thread but I just did some calculations that might help you if you still need it. The answer to your question depends on the width of the bead which I do not know. I took a slightly different approach though assuming different bead widths, wanting to figure out how much 8115 I would need to bond my front fender. I measured the lengths of all the bonding strips that would need adhesive and got 243 cm. Then calculated these values:

1/4 inch (~6mm) bead 77 ml 8115 needed
3/8 inch (~9mm) " 173 ml 8115 needed
1/2 inch (~12mm) " 308 ml 8115 needed

As a check I then figured out the area of the bonding strips assuming 1" width and a 1 mil .040") thickness and got about 63ml. This would be an absolute minimum ideal amount needed if everything was perfect. So I could possibly get away with one 200ml tube but 2 would be better and I might even buy three as long as I can return unused tubes

I think these numbers are reasonable but YMMV

in the end, I went a different route - but this is really helpful. Thank you!
