Cool cans anyone

Our "summer blend" is the worst
run a 172 Carter mech have forever on many motors
When I get to about 190 deg idle slowly but surely takes a nose dive never had that issue on any car. Switched carbs a few times doesnt matter seen others complain too. 1/2" stainless line stays cool/lukewarm to the touch carb too.
Wondering if cooling the fuel after the pump would make a difference
would be inconvenient other than the occasional cruiser
Thoughts?

On my BB Charger years ago I ran a cool can at the track(and on the street) trying to keep detonation away on pump gas when it was hot outside.

Try the usual fixes to keep the intake cooler, like no heat riser, under carb heat shield, and running full time vac advanvce.
My root cause of the carb running rich was to swap to metal (not plastic) floats. The plastic floats would absorb gas and sink.

My heat crossovers have the blockoff plates with a small hole drilled thru them.
Carb is isolated from the intake with the thickest phenolic plate the hood would allow.
I run a 195 thermostat and I haven't have any fuel issues in the summer.
