What clutch / pressure plate are you 4 speed guys running. I've got a 71 w/ a healthy 383. Any suggestions? Any bad experiences or suggestions what I should stay away from?

My neighbor and I both put Centerforce standard clutches in our cars: mine was a 327/350 66 and his is a 73 454.

I think you'll find Centerforce dual frictions very popular here, That's what I'm running behind my BB.

I've heared about several people that had problems with their Centerforce Dual Friction clutch... (sticking clutch). That's why I decided to go with the HAYS Borg&Beck Competition Pressure Plate and Street/Strip clutch... So far I'm extremely happy with my clutch - for regular driving and racing.. I also have a pretty healthy 383... (465 HP)...

I am also very happy with my Hayes Street/Strip Clutch and Pressure Plate. Sure grabs much better than the stocker. :D

I have over 6000 miles on the Centerforce Dual Friction. Great clutch, grabs well, easy pedal effort.

The caveat is that you have to fully follow the directions in regards to the distance of the ball stud (for the throwout arm) from the block face. Also the note regarding flywheel thickness and how it affects that distance.

So, follw the directions, no problems.
