Does anyone know if I can use tuned headers with the chevy stock side exhaust pipes. It does not look like the outlet of the deader will be anywhere close to the inlet of the side pipes without major modifications. Thanks
Hedman Hedders used to make a header that, with minimal cutting/trimming, would hook up to factory sidepipes. That MAY still be available. If not, maybe try McJacks.
However, the sidepipes are pretty restrictive, so I wouldn't worry too much about using the cast manifolds.
Probably somewhat. I had a set of the Hookers back in the late 70s, and they were the black painted ones. Rusted BADLY, lasted only 2 summers. The chrome, I believe, are just plated steel, that's why I'm suggesting stainless.....

Thank you. I save up a little longer to get the SS. Did the side pipes reduce the heat in the passenger compartment significantly?
Stainless header/sidepipes. $$ you will love them also free flowing muffler inserts. Not glasspaks Maxflow inserts
Heres an option http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-1963-1982-Corvette-Stainless-Side-Pipes-and-Headers-/172277306517?hash=item281c871495%3Ag%3AA8EAAOSw0fhXi3vc&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=zKjaU16%252F6LHC%252BOm8MdEjfhKQGnU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
