Frame rail repair
Thanks!
Jerry
Here are some pics
I fixed it by bending up a couple of U shaped pieces of steel and welded them to the original frame, which is a bitch because the metal is fairly thin because of rust. I ended up going 12-18 inches each way. I'm am going to replace the frame when it goes away so appearances didn't matter.
Unfortunately I'm on dial up at home or I'd upload a couple of pics of the fix.

This frame only has a hole in it, so it probably could have been fixed easily with a small piece of steel. But it is a northeastern car, so we figured it wouldn't be bad to replace part of the rail.
Thanks,
Jerry
Check out my web site for the 75 frame pictures. Northeast drivers get
really bad - really fast.
I think the repair section is the same dimensions as the original rail. It comes
with a short piece the fits inside the cut rail and the new piece.
Take the body off before commiting to parts purchases.
Good luck - I hope yours is not like mine was.

Those are some scary pictures! I'm happy to say that my frame looks awesome everywhere except that one area. I don't really understand it. The rest of the car looks like it came from down south (I should get a Carfax report).
Alright, thanks for the info!
Jerry
