Hi all
Had my 68 convert painted about 12 months ago.
Noticed some paint cracking around the hood hinge on the fenderside. Taking a guess that this is from flex when the hood is opened.
Any suggestions as to ways to limit it?
(Apart from not opening the hood :-) )
Small crack on fender just around the hinge location<br/>
That looks like more than the paint cracking. Appears to be a crack in the fiberglass. I'm not a paint and body guy so really can't help with a fix. Don't go back to the place that painted it if they didn't catch that before paint.

Had that on my 67 and found a fix, but it requires match painting. It is best to go under the crack and glass cloth it but when you can't I use this epoxy (JB). Back in the early 70's I used JB weld after grinding a deep V in the crack. Use slow and tape it in place so it does not sag then sand it to shape. The tape will not stick and it holds it in place. Did a number of cracks that way with great results.
they should have found and fixed before painting, you basically have to grind down refiberglass,
then finish the body work smooth and repaint, anything less, such as bondo and it will just return.
I am no expert, but that is more than paint cracking, I would post this in the paint and body section, Dub will respond he does this for a living and gives a lot of info to the members.
