I'm running a 4l80 using 90° - 6AN on center hub and 22.5° - 6AN on the front, braided stainless lines. Still clearance in the tunnel for insulation too. Tightest spot was the u-joint/yolk on tailshaft.
Nice work! , good luck.

Thanks for the good info. I'll keep an eye on the yoke area. I'm running a 1350 yoke, so it may be tight. I moved the engine about 3/4 inch forward, so that may help.

That looks like a nice build. My previous car ran in the nines. I'm slowing it down to the 10s to avoid the 8 point cage, pain in the rear cage cert, licensing, super hot fire suit, neck brace and window net.

I narrowed the rear to fit 295/55/15 MT DRs.

Wheels are 15x10 with with a 5.5 backspacing.

This is with the suspension unloaded.

When I load the suspension, I'll see if I have to flare the fenders or not. It's close.

here's the gap between the rubber and frame.

and the view from the side

Yes, I need to center the panhard bar.

Just sent out for a driveshaft. The one in the pics earlier was welded up from junk for testing and fitment. It's a pretty short (26 1/2) shaft because of the longer length of the 4l80E. I'm going with a 3" Chromoly .083 wall, 1350 ends, that should hopefully stand up to 1000 HP, if I decide to turn up the wick.

The floor on both sides was pretty rusty with a number of "ventilation" holes. I treated the floor with rust reformer and then fiber glassed over it.

Thanks. I autocross (sorry, not Corvette....BMW E30) in Bridgewater, at the baseball stadium whenever the club can rent the parking lot.

I might be able to help out with electronics if you're in a bind.

My son and I sharing the E30 in Bridgewater, I think it was patriots stadium.

I'm trying to squeeze these in. It's tight.

Been busy with other stuff lately. Just finished racing in the Stella Artois J105 North American championships.

Until now, I used a cut up driveshaft that I got from a JY, for testing only. Now I got the final driveshaft. 3" chromolly, 1350 ends. Should be good for 1000hp.

Got the seats fit in, barely. I set up the drivers side one so I can eliminate the slider. It feels a bit tall with the slider (and a helmet), so we'll see when I'm able to fit to T-top back on later.

Ok, I know I should be working more on the mechanical stuff to get this car on the road. But I really enjoy designing electronics as well.
I saw this killer 7" display and thought it would be great for the dash. So I'm playing with it, to see how much more work it will be to integrate this.

Here's what I have so far. It's not attached to the transmission controller yet, the numbers a just a mock up being run by the Arduino.

I pulled some photos off the internet and made them backgrounds for each of the driving modes. If anyone has some nice graphics that they think might look nice as a background, LMK and I can change these easily.

This display allows me to move anything around easily, so if I don't like where any part is, I can mode it around, add other stuff, graphics etc. It's also a touch screen, so I won't need lots of buttons to run this.

The Cruise/Sport mode screen has a bunch of digital info as well as a Tach and Speedo.

Here is the burnout mode screen.

That slider in the center is to let me know if I'm under or over my boost target for that gear.

Awesome Build!

The wiring/electronics are one thing I am definitely not looking forward too.

Dyno mode screen:

The bottom of the screen will graph RPM, boost, A/F.

Hmm, I could plug in the weight of the car and have it calculate HP and graph that too.

The black text on top of the screen is not my dyno run, just part of the background photo of a random dyno sheet. It's a nice target to shoot for.

One more screen for editing things like max RPM for a gear in a particular driving mode, or max boost for a gear, low oil pressure to alarm at, etc. These settings are saved after power off.

Wow I can't believe it's be almost 2 years since last time I updated this.

There have been lots of changes!!! Where to start.

Cleaned up the trans mount.
Took the entire assembly apart and got the chassis powder-coated. My son got me a killer deal on the powder-coat. They blasted the chassis, then a layer of zinc and then a layer of black. came out very thick.

Found an LQ4, 6.0 Liter. Had it freshened up and bored for Forged pistons and Rods.

Cleaned up the valves and seats. installed truniion kit into rockers. Heavier springs, beefier pushrods.

Needless to say, the engine has a higher HP potential than the stock 5.3 did.
