Upgrading suspension- Complete Kits
My 82 suspension is tired. Springs are weak and rubber is cracked and failing. I'm looking at suspension packages mainly at Ecklers. Looking at the Stage 5, Advanced Street and Slalom and the Performance Suspension Package. Price ranges from 1,100 to 1,400. The advanced street may be stiffer than what I want. Any experience out there on these packages? Better deals somewhere else?
I'm running a 400 small block pushing about 475 HP so I need a suspension to match. Also have the steeroids rack and pinion.

Looks like a lot of their kits still use steel springs, and the ones that dont have that goofy looking fiberglass (cant remember the manufacturer, but lots of ride height problems). Look at VB&P kits, their fiberglass springs are tried and true. Also vansteel has some good stuff, but more high end coilover kits.

I have the VB&P Street and Slalom kit on my '79 and it is great. I didn't care for the rear sway bar that mounts similar to the front because it gave me a much stiffer ride. I switched back to the stock '79 sway bar (my car was equiped with one) and it is a good balance. I don't push my car to extremes, but I do drive it hard and I haven't had any handling issues.
