Default Swapping a deep-piston in a shallow-piston MC

I'm in the process of fixing up a '74 c3, I already put the Wilwood alu calipers on it only to notice the original? master cylinder was leaking from the booster seam.

I took it apart and it's pitted a bit too much for just some honing to fix it. I started searching for master cylinders and noticed they make aluminum versions.

Wilwood make one, but it has the wrong size outlets so that's out of the question.

SSBC seem to make 3 different versions, of which the direct-fit 0475 seems to be impossible to get, so I started looking at the 0477 which is for 77-> c3s with a shallow piston which wouldn't work directly.

Can I just swap in a deep-piston from an older rebuild kit or are there some other differences between the master cylinders that means it won't work? I already have a brand new rebuild kit so it wouldn't cost any extra.

Yes. I've been where you are and did the same thing.

The Wilwood master cylinder is delivered with adapters to fit the stock brake lines. Or was that not what you meant with outlets?

Aha, yeah I was unaware of that, even though I did check out Wilwood's site. Looking at it again I suppose it does make sense, but it could have been a bit clearer that it's actually provided with adapters.

I ended up ordering the Ssbc master cylinder, saves me some money if nothing else.

Ah, yeah I was not aware of that. I had even checked Wilwood's product page for that master cylinder, I guess it's kinda mentioned there but it could be a bit clearer that the actual adapters are included.

Anyway, I ended up ordering the Ssbc 0477 to which I will then just swap in the deep piston.
