Paint Progress on Blue 82
This is the nose all sanded down nice and smooth:
This one shows how we believe that this car was re-painted right over the previous paint job- we think that this might have been done in the factory or at the dealer -
Here's why it may have been re-painted right over the original - we found a repair that had been done (rather poorly) that could have been a result of shipping, or a rear blowout...
I know that last one is hard to see, but if you look, you can see the different colored primer around the area of the repair.
Anyhoo. We should be back on the road in about 2 weeks! I can't wait!!!

Is it fun?

But you might want to put a coat of primer on it before it starts to rust...
:p:
I have to admit - I have not done any of the work myself.
I got rear-ended a few weeks ago, and that covered enough of the paint job to let me hand it over to the pros.
Other than the paint and rear bumper damage from the wreck, the paint was in OK shape. Since there was a coat of paint put right over the original clear coat, some was peeling off of the hood...but that was only noticable when you looked closely.
The only elbow grease I have used so far is for taking pictures.
I will post more pics as it progresses, but I can't wait to be driving Blue82 home with the new paint!
