Regarding the air vent right under the top of the passenger side front fender, what position(s) on the control switch sends vacuum to the actuator?
The unit works, I tested it with vacuum.
That's not a fresh air vent--at least not in the way I believe you mean.
Air does not come out of it at any time. With the control set at "MAX A/C" vacuum is applied and most of the air used by the system comes from inside the cabin--i.e. recirculation. At all other settings there is no vacuum to the actuator and outside air for the system comes from the passenger side of the windshield wiper well.

Well, that's why I just called it an air vent. Being at the passenger end of the wiper well, it defaults to the open position. So, the max a/c setting is the only time it gets vacuum and uses recycled air from the cabin. Thanks!
