Default My 80'C3 has no two hook, best advice needed.

Gentlemen, been at it five years but I'm still a rookie with alot to learn ! Turns out, my 80' C3 has no tow hook as I learned when my car shut down on a test drive. The three "A" car club said "we can tow it out of here but you need to sign a waiver absolving us of any damage that we might cause your vehicle.

Since this was a much modified car that was being parted out , I don't expect to be able to restore it to numbers matching or anything close so what would the best suggestion be for a solid tow hook install ?

Corvette Elders please advise.

Thank you again .

Robert

When you call a towing company specify that it's a vette with no tow hooks, they will send a Wrecker Capable of lifting the front end via the wheels.

Get a slideback for towing. If you tow from the front you can kiss the posi unit goodbye.

When towing from the front you put more weight on rear axle which can sometimes get clutch packs to operate when the tow truck turns. All the towing services I knew always towed vehicles with a limited slip from the rear or used a slide back. Most towing services today use slide backs so for most a non issue.
