Default MSD 6A install location??

I am going to install the MSD 6A and I am searching for the best location. The engine and transmission are out of the car and I don't see anywhere in the engine compartment that looks like a good mounting location. I am considering installing it under the drivers seat.
Does anyone have a suggested location that worked well?
Thanks in advance!

I use the angled front side of the passenger footwell, just below the break where it goes vertical.

On the inner fenders works well. Keep away from exhaust for sure.

Doubt it will fit under the seat...

I'm running a 6AL in my 69. I put it between the headlights, in front of the radiator. I mounted it on a plate I made, and I used some rubber isolators. Not an issue in about 7 years now.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had not considered that area. Do you have any pictures of the bracket and the final installation?
Thanks again.
BTW- I am also a USAF veteran. I did jet engine overhaul on the GE J85 jet engine for the T38A Talon.
Thank you for your service.
Cheers!

This is where mine is, but mine is bolted directly to some metal up there. Nice and secret. The wires are run alongside the headlight vacuum lines. (78 MY)

Don't mind the dust on the car, I have to pull the transmission back out, and the rest of the car is suffering for it

Mounted mine up front, between the headlights, as well. Sealed all the joints on the box with clear silicone to keep any moisture out. Been good there for a number of years now with no issues.

Thank you so much for the pictures! This looks like the best location and with the engine and transmission out of my car it should be easier to install.
Thanks again for taking the time to add pictures!

On my 68, I put it behind the passenger side dash pad. No AC car, it had plenty of room and will not be exposed to the heat of the engine compartment. It not like you have to adjust it much once you set it up.

It won't be hard to do, and the wires will be easy to route. Be sure to take in to consideration where everything will be when it all goes back together. That's why my small trans cooler has bent fins, I didn't do that. Missed it by that much(~~~~)

No MSD 6A. I have a MSD 6530 Programmable unit.

This is my location.
