Well, if I weren't so emotionally attached to my car, I'd be right behind you on the C4 bandwagon. Stock for stock, the C4 will beat a C3 in every aspect except for comfort(IMO) and style (in everyone's opinion except C4 owners ;) ). Obvious exception given to the big block cars out there in terms of acceleration and speed.
My friend's 92 LT1 just absolutely blows my vette away when you throw it in a corner, and is much more explosive when you hit the throttle. I would die for another chance to drive that baby hard.
Rick, what do you call "bargain prices"? I have looked at two super nice, low mileage C4s recently, and the prices were $23-24.5k. I think they will only depreciate, while earlier ones can be expected to appreciate.
Your completely right, performance/ handling etc. their heads and shoulders above C-3's. But hell with 20+ years of technological advancements they better. But I'm telling you from a guy who has driven everything short of an F40 nothing and I mean nothing compares with the body style of a Stingray, NOTHING! I pull downtown and park out front of a club sandwiched between an 850I and a 500 SEL who gets the crowds of drooling guys around his ride, yeah Cali,77-L-82 and I'm not even in the same league as my chrome bumper year brotheren. My .02.

So, what are you after? Sinuous curves that turn heads and look cool or performance that looks like about a half million C4s?
It is possible to have both chromy C3 looks and hot rod performance but don't tackle this unless you can do a lot of it yourself - it gets expensive in a hurry!
I am biased but when I went out with a local group of c4 and c5 owners at a sonic, people and the young guys looked at my car and even took pictures, then wandered over to check out others, and that is with weak paint on my 70. Makes the heart go thump, thump and the grin get even bigger. :D But, I do like ALL vettes too. :yesnod:
