Default Correct Fuel Pump for 1969 L46

Hello,

Had the pump go bad and start leaking around the top of the large brass crimped lower.

I am trying to figure out the correct replacement pump.

Again, this is the L46 high compression engine, much like the LT1 but with the qjet, cam, etc etc.

The pump I removed I believe was changed before by my father it is a 40726 (106M40726)

What I can find is the 40726 is a camaro z28/Lt1 pump

The corvette lt1 is a 40709 designation.

The traditional 350 common pump is listing as a 40658

Can anyone shed a little light on this? I know the high perf stuff is 3/8" in-out and supposedly the LT1 uses an inverted flare. Mine flares towards you at the pump; not sure if that is inverted.

Not a lot to find via search so any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Tom

The 69 L-46 used the 40658 fuel pump.

Revi is right - just the standard small block pump for the L-46 (40658). The major vendors should have them.

Thanks. Yeah I'd like to get the correct AC one. It's a bunch more money; but it should wear correct parts.
