I'm sorry, Mr. Gusto, but that's pretty insane. That machine alone is WELL over 5,000#, not to mention the trailer weight. I would be hella surprised if the metal in the hitch was rated to the weight you're pulling in the picture.
Whether it worked or not, there's no part of that setup that looks like a good idea.
Towing safety has nothing to do with things going right. It has EVERYTHING to do with how badly things can go wrong.

Because it's NOT a Vette! The lure of Rt 66 is calling... and it's not the same in a truck!
Anyway, problems solved! New brakes on the C-3 and bled off surge brakes on the trailer make this rig stop on a dime. The nice thing about the surge brakes is that you get braking when decelerating/downshifting. Next is a 320 mile test to make sure all is well.
