The hood on my 75 won't open. The cable is ok but the hood is stuck on the right side. I recall that there is a way to open it but I don't recall the procedure.
There is a plug in the wiper bay that you can remove and use a screwdriver to release the latch. I think Mid America has an article on this on their web site. Craig
Thanks Slickman, I looked at MAD 's tech article. Still don't see how i can get screwdriver into the windshield wiper well but will give it a try tomorrow.
No luck with either of the two suggestions. However I did jack up the right side of the vett and the body flexed just enough to release the right side catch. Also found that the cable had lenghtened. Still trying to adjust the latches. I guess it is a trial and error procedure as I have not found any instructions in the AIM.
That sounds tricky - and I'm gonna have to do it - no doubt.
If you figure out what steps need to be taken, it would be nice
to post it up here for all to learn.
The best way I have found to adjust the latches is to put some tape over the latch and put a dab of grease on the pin. Lower the hood until the grease touches the tape and you will see if you are centered. This is easy and accurate. Good Luck, Craig :chevy
