With no oil pressure your engine might go kaboom! Did you ever have pressure? Your gauge/line might be unhooked or not functioning.

Are you talking about the pump or the guage?

The pump is mechanical and is located on the bottom of the block in the oil pan.

The guage is electrical and the sending unit is on the block in the area of the oil filter.

I just purchased a new sending unit at http://www.tld-corvette.com for about 2/3's of what the dealer wanted.

If you change your pump, keep us posted as I think I want to upgrade this part this Winter.

uhh Can't seem to find an oil sending unit from TLD, just the fuel sending unit in the gas tank.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'm still trying to figure it out. The car had oil pressure when I bought it, but recently the pressure starts off at 20 when cold, and then drops to 10 when driving it. I know I've got a decent leak from the rear main seal, but that shoudn't be causing my low pressure- if I indeed have low pressure.

Thanks!

Call you stupid? Never! I'm the big idiot out here.

Check the oil everyday! I know I've got a leak, so I try and keep a close eye on it. Problem is I couldn't get a good reading from the dipstick (all smeared), so I thought it might be really low because the car sat for a few weeks while I did the water pump. Added a couple of quarts after I saw the low pressure, and I still get a lot of smeared readings from the dipstick so I think I've got tooo much in it now. Just ran over to Pep Boys (yecH) and got a new sender....hehe gonna ditch outta work and try it out.
