Default Leaking Fuel?

Could I be? I guess anything's possible, I've just never had this one happen before. My baby has been parked for about 2 weeks. I could have sworn that when I pulled into the garage, the gauge was reading a little over 3/4 tank. I started it up yesterday, and she was barely reading over 1/2! I don't smell any gasoline fumes, and I haven't noticed any drips. Has anyone else had a fuel leak? If so, where was it?

Thanks in advance

Got any kids? :) At age 15 my older sister was known to go for joy rides in my parent's Monte Carlo when they where gone.

God rest her soul. :blueangel:

Heh, no I don't think that's it. The only person who could be driving it is my wife, and she's scared to death of that beast. :)

I`ve notice several fuel gages acting like that. When you pull in to the garage and look at the gauge,it says 1/2.When you shut of the car and the electric, the needle seem to drop down a bit. When you insert the key again and turn everything on,the gauge starts to move upwards. But it doesnt go all the way up to 1/2.It stays a little below it...Go figure..My Volvo did the exact same thing..  :smash:

My temp gauge is the same way. If I think it is hot i just shut the car down and turn the acc's on. Drop 10 degrees of heat in 5 sec.

Also noticed that my gauge tends to adjust very slow meaning it may have adjusted to your forward motion just before you parked making it read high, but when it sat it re-adjusted to it's current reading. Jut a theory with no factual basis.

I sure hope that's what it is. I've seen gauges that would read high while driving just because of the fuel sloshing around, but I didn't think that would happen with a bladder tank. 1/4 tank variation just seems like too much.

I guess I'll crawl under there with a cig. lighter tonight and look for a leak. :D joking!
