Default Washers on Intake Manifold Bolts

Should I leave the washers on manifold bolts on my rebuilt LT1 engine with aluminum manifold? I am getting a some oil seepage from the center manifold bolts.

Yes , leave them. But the oil seepage is likely a gasket problem. Have the heads been milled ? Have you retorqued all the bolts ?

Use Permatex or ARP thread sealer (not locker) on the intake manifold "through" bolts to stop the oil from wicking up the bolt and onto your intake.

yes, keep the washers, and as stated above, use sealer on the bolts this time.

Common problem, I have washers and chased the same oil leak.
I have had the best results with Permatex #2. Remove the bolt and thoroughly clean the threads. Fill the threads on the bolt with #2 and reinstall.
