Many of you have the 288/300 cam in builds. Here is a dyno test of the camshaft in a 10 to 1 396 with a set of 702 GM castings. Cam is the Ol'School 600/570 229/241 on a 109 that many of you have. What surprises me is the torque it has:
Some have contacted me about what was done to the head and what was on it for exhaust....from the customer........1 7/8 STOCK CAR HEADER, SO WITH A REGULAR 1 7/8 HEADER, TORQUE AND HP WOULD PROBALLY BE A LITTLE BETTER,HEADS ARE 702 ,MILLED TO 96 CC WITH A 0.0028 THOUSATHS COMETIC GASKET(MLS)WITH A QUENCH @0.0040.STOCK VALVE SIZE ,FERREA VALVES ,HARDENED SEALS ON EXHAUST, NO PORTING.10.1 CR.
Chris!
Nice numbers, as you know i got this in my 468.
Have not dynoed it, but my engine guru calculated it to 500+ TQ, but only 400 +Hp....
Do have LT:s and full exhaust..
Stock 049 heads and intake on my 72 Vette.
Whatever nr:s, it runs great!!

Well now you can show your engine guy this dyno sheet as you have proof that it is a pretty good bet you have more than 400HP.
