Default Holley Reverse idle adjustment

When adjusting the idle mixture on a Holley with a reverse idle circuit (screw adjusts air bleed rather than fuel) do you find max vacuum and leave it there? Or, do you just adjust for max vacuum, go leaner till you get a slight vacuum drop then richen 1/2 turn?

I went to there website and found no information on the reverse idle adjustment

Thanks!

Had one of those carbs on a 31 Pont coupe several years ago. I used to adjust it for max vaccum & leave it there. That carb gave great off idle acceleration & decent gas mileage on a small block.

It screw direction doesn't matter. You still adjust for highest vacuum/idle speed. Once you hit that point, you stop as BB wrote. Holley does make mention of these carbs on their site (at least they used to) but it's more of a "hey folks, not all of our carbs are the same" rather than explicit instruction on how to adjust the idle mixture.

Played with it a little more. Max vacuum pretty much bottoms out the screw. Car runs really strong with the carb, but I think that it is just about maxed out with my engine combo. Any changes to the engine and I'll have to get a non emissions Holley.

Thanks!
