Default Trying to identify a wire

I tried to go tidy up under the hood before it starts to rain and found this clipped wire. The clipped end was near the headlights/horn, I just pulled it in to get it all in the pic. Looks like it was clipped years ago considering the corrosion.
I can't ID it just from looking at a Wilcox schematic.
Now the only electrical thing that I know does not work is the horn so that's the likely suspect.

That was for the light on the under side of the hood.

So it connected to the hood at the front edge?
I never saw an under hood light when I removed the insulation, should it have constant power?

Yes, has power all the time. If you have no light housing simply disconnect it from the black connector. Keep this pigtail as the white plastic capsule is the fuse link.

Yes, constant power, uses a mercury switch to turn it on when the hood opens.

Cool thanks for the info, and I was wondering what the capsule was. I'll test it for continuity and maybe put together something more modern with a bright led.

The orange piece of wire is actually the fusible link, the white plastic piece is just the insulator for the connection.

It looks like the insulator is molded on, how would someone recreate that connection if they were going for a stock look?
I'm just curious, this car will never be a resto type project

Ecklers has a kit that includes the fixture and harness with the fusible link, just plugs in where yours is removed. Not sure how to recreate the plastic insulator otherwise.
