I what to clean up the engine compartment. Their seems to be alot of wires and hoses everywhere. Any tips on making your engine compartment look really nice?

Nah, you don't need any of those wires or hoses. Rip 'em all out of there. it'll all be OK since those GM guys didn't know what they were doing anyway! :D What to do to make the compartment look nice depends on your definition of "nice". I personally like the looks of a stock engine compartment with the shiny chrome ignition and spark plug shielding in place and the vacuum hoses and such properly routed.

I assume you're after a more custom version of "nice". That's cool too. If you really want rid of all the vacuum hoses, I suppose you could go with some fixed headlights with plexiglass covers and remove all the vacuum stuff. Or the electrical motor headlight conversion that was talked about a few months back. Then buy some custom colored wire wrap stuff to conceal whatever wiring and hoses remain. Oh yeah, since you have a wiper door car you'd have to remove that too or convert it to electric somehow.

I'm with Shannon on this one. The best you can do, is use some wire looms to collect them all. I found that removing what I could, and then repainting and detailing it all, made a world of difference. Also, replacing the old vacuum hoses with new, doesn't hurt. Another thing I did, was I pulled the hood latches, and I took a wire wheel to them. Then I bought new emissions and coolant decals, and control arm covers from Dr. Rebuild.

Not to take this in a diifferent direction but you don't happen to know the name of the thread regarding electronic headlights do you?
