Is the joint that attaches the pitman arm to the power steering valve available so you can replace the joint and not have to buy the complete valve thanks
The valve is good and no leaks but the JOINT seems to have a lot of play. I don't want to spend 200 bucks to get a joint.. I would rather put toward getting a borgerson unit.
That joint will have a lot of play with the engine off. Once the engine is running and there is pressure from the pump, the valve should tighten up and then any steering input should translate to assisted steering.
I believe the ball studs are on back order currently. I know the major over-haul kit is on eternal back order.
But if the stud is loose it sounds like the compression nut inside is loose. If you go to the beginning of this video you'll see what controls how tight the valve is as well as how to adjust it. Since it has a locking tang that holds it I guess it's possible someone rebuilt the valve and didn't get it tight enough.
