I'm looking into agreed value insurance through Condon & Skelly. How do they keep up with the 2500 mile limit per year and if you go over, what do they do? (Insurance Police maybe)?
You may be mixing apples and oranges. Agree-On Value insurance does not have mileage restrictions in most instances. Classic/Vintage Car insurance does.
DP, I have had Condon and Skelly since I bought my 71. It is agreed value, and they do ASK you what your mileage is every year at renewel time. Now wether they will ever AUDIT or do I physical inspection, I ahve never heard of this happening. And for me it is not a problem, I put less than 2k actual miles a year on my 71 a year.
I went with State Farm Classic insurance for my 74. I got nice hi limits, low deductible, $15k coverage and no mileage limits for a skosh less than $300/year.

Brettmc,
Are you sure about the mileage limits . When I checked with State Farm about Classic insurance (I have regular use insurance at this time), I was told that it will only cover you to and from a car show....or parade...or when traveling in an organized event. Taking the vette for a Sunday ride would not be covered
My agent wouldn't recommend it.....but then again he was making more money off of the regular use insurance :yesnod: .
Hmmmmm. I just called the little gal that gave me my binder. She works in the agents office (she's bout 22-24 yrs old). She assured me that there no limitations on driving or mileage. When I actually get my physical policy I'll check to make sure. In the meantime, can you call a different agent and ask these questions from him/her? I'm really curious now. I don't know whether to think if my agent's young assistant is right or your agent is.
Thats what I don't like about state farm. They seem to be "wishy washy" to me. And if you are paying over $200.00 a year, thats about $100.00 too much, IMO.

Maybe is 'geographic'....but here in Texas I have State Farm Insurance with my '68 under "Pleasure Vehicle" (...or 3rd vehicle - not primary).
It's fully insured up to $20k (agreed value) at only $354 per year !!!
No stinkin' mileage limits for me ! :D :D :D

Martin,
I went around and around with my State Farm Agent. Before I moved I had a great agent (I have been with State Farm for over 30 years) but after moving the agent I have didn’t want to do much. He wanted $400/6 mo. I went nuts.:bs :bs
I could not believe it, this is my 5th Vette and I have never paid that. (I have 3 cars, a motorcycle and my house with State Farm) Even after I threatened to cancel all my policies, he would not budge. I posted on here about it and got a lot of replies from State Farm customers. I emailed him 30 responses from people that said my agent just didn’t know what he was doing. It caused him to do some checking and my policy became $90/6Mo.! :)
Antique and Classic are not the same. :nono: If you get antique, yes it is VERY limited. However Classic/Collectable does not have that limitation. We did agreed upon value, and he said it had a 2K a year mileage limit. (Although that mileage limit is not written in my policy)
It’s too bad but sometimes you have to fight to make people do their job.:boxing :cuss
