Default Hooker sidemounts and O2 sensor

Just sharing my Holley HP mpfi install and the O2 sensor.
This is on my 64, and there is room to install at the proper angle.
I'm not sure if the C3 has the same open area between frame and rocker.
Just a FYI if it helps someone out.

Wow, that's pretty tight. I need to do this on my 70 so I'm paying attention.

There is actually more room than it looks. Plenty of room to easily remove/install sensor. I know the trim won't fully hide sensor, bung and hex will probably be somewhat visible, but that's OK.

Nice detailed pics.
I too will be running side pipes and this is of interest to me also.
How did you install the bung without changing the finish of the pipes?....or does it just seem that way?

Btw...is the bungee cord some kind of torque strap mod? just kidding.....nice looking engine compartment.

Unfortunately there is not enough room on a C3 for the sensor to fit between the frame and rocker,

Mine is mounted below the frame. I welded the bung on prior to fitting the headers and then realised I could have mounted it higher. I plan on repositioning the bung and should be able to get the sensor sitting close to horizontal.

Mine is exactly the same as yours. I don't leave my sensor in. I only use it for tuning.

Looks great. Some good ideas here on where to mount the sensor.

I to mounted mine conservatively for frame clearance considering it needs to be pointing down - it could be pointing down more. I'm at only about 2 o'clock and after install I saw that I could get close to 1 o'clock. I will change the bung position to correct it some day. It's been 6 years now.....

Hi

and should be able to get the sensor sitting close to vertical.
Guess you mean horizontal. Anyway, for test drives, it shouldn't matter how it is orientated.

Will do this as well . Thanks for the pics.

Thanks Gunther, your right I meant to say horizontal. I have the O2 sensor fitted permanently as I'm using a Fast xfi ecu.

A couple of dumb questions for you ~ Is there a legal reason that you still have the O2 sensor, or, is it to do with something else?

Also, what Sidemount headers & pipes do you have there, it looks great!
