Flowmaster Delta 40 mufflers
Is anyone running the Flowmaster 40 series Delta-flow mufflers with duel exhaust & 350? Is the resonance inside the car low or high? How's the exhaust note? Thanks for any info.

Yes Sir.. I'm running Dynomax headers into true dual 2.5 pipe, into a crossover, then through hi-flow cats, and exiting out 40 DeltaFlows. The resonance is pretty bad from idel through 2K. Hard to carry on a conversation. Above 2K it's OK. But the awsome rumble from the rear is worth every lost word!!!! :yesnod:

That's what I was afraid of, unbearable resonance, I'll keep looking for the perfect Corvette muffler??? Thanks Silvr77 :confused:

You might look into dynomax ultraflows. Theres no resonance on them. I switched from ultra 40's and its much better. I can now hear all the other squeaks and rattles my car has. :D

I got dynomax headers true dual exhaust and v4mufflers (canadian knock off of flowmaster 40's) It's LOUD at WOT. At crusing speed it does have a somewhat loud resonance but it's bareable. And corvettes are supossed to sound like muscle cars, because they are.... so slap em on. I love mine!

Maybe I'm going deaf or something but my exhaust system sounds very tame to me. I'll have to get some other forum members to listen to them for a non-biased opinon.

Thanks everybody for all the good info. I like a great sounding exhaust, but I also like to hear myself think, the stereo & the person sitting next to me(usually the wife). Think I'll pass on the flowmasters. Have had them on other cars, not vettes, and they were awsome, but no resonance,go figure.I hear Borla's are good to use on vettes,any thoughts? :nonod:

I just bought the Borla's, but have not installed them yet. I had two good sources tell me they are quieter than either the Flowmasters 40's or 50s.
They are very high quality polished stainless steel. About 9.5 X 14 inches.

Regular Flowmaster 40's here, supposed to be louder than deltaflows, strong resonance up to 2k, but I like it that way, like the saying goes "if it's too loud, your too old" :lol:

I have the Delta Flow 50s on mine. The resonance is there but not annoying. I was warned on the 40s being to loud on a Vette with no tailpipe to quiet it. The 50s are plenty loud when called upon but you can still hear in the car.

I have them and I can't stand the resonance. They're going to be replaced asap. I even have a crossover pipe and it only helped a little.

I have them (see sig) and love them. Resonance is not bad at all with an x-pipe. Highway cruising at 3500rpm is quiet and talking is no problem. Below 2000 rpm at mid throttle it resonates a little, but i love it none the less. :cheers: :cool: GET EM!

Why not go 50 series then? 3 chamber instead of 2.
