OK-

I don't know how you are coming up w/ $6400...

The coilover kit with single adjust shocks are $1399 and that INCLUDES new trailing arms... Oh ask Vansteel for the 10% Forum discount and you are at about $1260.

AND these work on ALL years of the C3...

Lets do some math- Apples to Apples-

Composite spring and shocks -
say KYB shocks and - not the most expensive composite spring-

Spring $400
Shocks $100
TOTAL - $600

I am NOT adding in the other pieces as you will need those on the coilovers too...

Coilovers

All the parts you need PLUS a pair of offset trailing arms

$1260
MINUS the bad A$$ trailing arms- 2" offset w/ parking brake mod
-$500
TOTAL-$760

I'm being conservative on the pricing....so you are talking $160 more as a direct comparison...

Granted - you have to get the trailing arms- in my case I had a bad arm and it made NO sense not to go with the the coilovers....

Gentlemen,

Your detailed replies to my question have given me much to consider .
Adding in all of your personal experiences with both coil over and leaf spring C3 rear setups has me much closer to making a knowledgeable decision .

Best Wishes for the coming New Year.

Robert

Robert,

I have a complete Van Steel suspension system for a 1972 Corvette including a frame that is already modified for the system. I am very new to this forum so I'm not sure yet how to send you pictures of what I have. Feel free to email me at kandahouses@gmail.com and I can email info and pictures of what I have. Thanks.
