For Christmas my wife is getting me a stereo for my corvette with everything. can you tell me how the single din stereos with the 7" screen that comes out, are they sturdy or cheap? Or should I just stick with a regular din stereo? She's getting me stereo, speakers and amp, and new bezel.

I have a Pioneer head unit that flips up. The tilt of the screen is adjustable which is a real nice feature. It's hooked up to a JD Audio class D amp powering a 10" sub behind the seats and a pair of 6-1/2" Infinity shallow mount speakers in behind the kick panels. I usually leave the screen retracted while driving so I can view the gauges. I also bought a new Din 1 centre cluster panel so I didn't need to hack up my original one. I haven't had any issues at all with my set up. Here's a couple of pics.
I was walking around some store the other day and they had some of these on display. I noticed that the one I looked at said that it had a "camera input"..... that sounded pretty good for using a rear view camera.
I already converted to D1N style stereo (one of my favorite mods) so if i get ambitious it would be easy.
Thanks for posting the pictures.
