There's a big difference between drag racing and running the SS. One factor always overlooked is heat expansion. Running a constant 140, the diff is going to get hot. Very hot. Bearing clearances will change along with preloads and ring and pinion clearance. Small luxuries like REM polishing and cryo treating will be mandatory. The bearing caps will grow much larger than standard bearing preloads.
SteersDad is correct about the quality of metal over the years. I will also add that the factory machining done on C3 diff housings is nothing less than horrible.
At your power you won't need 30 spline inner axles or 31 spline outers but you will need high quality pieces. Not the factory stuff. Check out this thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-30spline.html
This isn't even the minimum you will need. Balanced halfshafts and driveshaft are mandatory. If you are going to run coil-overs do yourself a favor and use the ridetech system. It works!
Better brake rotors, metallic or semi-metallic brake pads are a must. Along with chrome moly rod ends, no poly.
Everything must be trued to 0 runout. 2 or 3 thousandths may work on the street but not at 140 on public roads.
